Gran Canaria & Las Palmas de Gran Canaria

Gran Canaria – the unique Island very ready for team building and meetings

The dunes of Maspalomas
Gran Canaria offers infinite leisure possibilities. Expect to be blown away by the Dunes of Maspalomas, the cliffs of the west coast and the leafy pines groves of the centre area; an all weather destination to practice golf, sea sports, trekking and end it up with a wellness break. Then, there is Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, a cosmopolitan city where businessmen and tourists mix with the local population.

The island's abundant hotels, the transport network and the conference centres with their outstanding architectural designs, together with the island's highly developed services, infrastructures and telecommunications, make Gran Canaria an excellent venue for the hosting of conferences, seminars, symposia, product presentations and conventions. It is not surprising, therefore, that this sector of the island has been growing at such a tremendous rate, the annual growth rate exceeding 15%. Apart from these specific elements of congress tourism that the island has to offer, there is also the added incentive of being able to hold one's work functions in the best climate in Europe, while being able to enjoy a broad range of leisure activities and restaurant services.
In Gran Canaria there are two different places for organising events: In the north of the island is the capital city “Las Palmas de Gran Canaria”, and in the south of the island, the tourist resort of Maspalomas.
The south of the island is home to the Maspalomas Conference Centre; is a multi-purpose building with a useful area of 14,000 square metres. It has 24 conference rooms, including the GRAN SALA MASPALOMAS, with an area of 3,870 square metres, which can hold up to 6,165 people.
In addition to these centers, each of which constitute a compelling reason to choose Gran Canaria when planning all types of congresses, conferences and seminars, there are about a hundred other conference halls in hotels located both in the tourist areas and in the capital, with capacities of up to 500 people. Furthermore, the hotels of Gran Canaria are characterized by their high ratings, since most of them fall within the four-star and four-star plus ratings.

The island, with its diversity of landscapes, also boasts unique enclaves for the planning of very different and special incentive trips. In Gran Canaria, the organizers of events can let their imaginations run completely wild, as the whole environment plays along in this small continent, helping organizers to design the best programmes for their clients.
Reception at the Grand Canyon

In Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, a great investment effort is currently underway with the aim of placing the city on the cutting edge in terms of congress facilities. Gran Canaria Convention Bureau was constituted for the purposes of promoting these types of events, this body being the product of the joint efforts of the local public sector and the companies and bodies that operate in the tourist sector.
During the last few years, Gran Canaria has hosted many prestigious national and international conferences that have been extremely successful in terms of attendance figures. The mild weather conditions that prevail on the Island throughout the year, as well as the extraordinary locations of the various conference centers, have contributed to placing Gran Canaria in an excellent competitive position when it comes to choosing the ideal destination for holding conferences, workshops, seminars, symposiums and presentations…

The capital city and north, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria is a cosmopolitan city where businessmen and tourists alike mix with the local population. This atmosphere is what distinguishes the city from the areas that are exclusively tourist resorts. There are two conference centres in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria:

The Canary Islands Conference Centre – Alfredo Kraus Auditorium, set on Las Canteras Beach, and the Gran Canaria Conference Centre, set in the Infecar trade fair grounds. The Conference Centre was designed by Catalan architect Oscar Tusquets. It is situated on one of the most emblematic sites of the city, Las Canteras Beach, which endows it with an outstanding and relaxing marine setting with suggestive views over the Atlantic Ocean.

The conference Centre is made up of 14 meeting rooms with a capacity for 3,465 delegates. Of these, the Symphony Hall is one of the jewels of the conference centre. It is considered the most spectacular area of the building due to its 100 square metres picture window set behind the stage, providing conference delegates and visitors with a link with the Atlantic Ocean. With a capacity for 1,656 people, its hexagonal shape makes it one of the best settings for holding a conference.
The Gran Canaria Conference Centre, located within the grounds of the INFECAR trade fair centre, is a modern building equipped with the very latest technology. Within the physical space, covering over 7,500 m2, there are different sized halls that offer a wide range of options for holding all kinds of events. Next to the main building, there are several pavilions offering over 10,000 m2 of commercial exhibition space
