| What
do you do when the meeting is over?
 |
That
is the question Entrepreneur, Brian Catton, is trying
to answer with new creation www.WhentheMeetingsOver.com.
Brian says that he was inspired to create this business
on a recent trip to Phuket, and has appointed Caroline
Purdon and Sarah Russell (photo left) to manage his
dream from Bath. According to Brian Catton after a
meeting in Phuket, he wanted to play tennis, but who
with? |
He waited
ages at the hotel's courts, and eventually someone showed
up.
He was
Swedish, they were of a similar standard and enjoyed had
some great matches. He had interests in a Pro Am tennis
event in Sweden and his company was building a resort in
Phuket. Coincidentally Brian’s interests are in property
and he also promotes professional tennis events. A lucky
chance!
That
is when he realised that there must be over one million
people travelling on business every day, who might want
to do something when the meeting's over. Or to find out
about a city from somebody else who is also travelling.
Paris, Rome, Hong Kong, Sydney, New York or Los Angeles.
Poignantly there's a kinship amongst travellers, even strangers,
and the site has the capacity to bring people together.
WhentheMeetingsOver.com
evolved from there. Travellers can exchange emails about
a city, its ways and cultures, the best restaurants, shops,
galleries, museums, architecture, whatever. Or, they may
meet up for golf, tennis, shopping, sightseeing, etc....
Or they may just want to chat - the site includes a forum,
and 'The Wink' gives top tips on travelling and destinations.
The site is constantly updating and improving and is free
to join.
